Management Referrals

Management referrals address the health problems which may affect an employee’s attendance or performance. Some employees may be fearful of occupational health however a management referral should be viewed as an impartial source of advice for employer and employee.

We help employees stay in work and return to work after absence and advise on adjustments and other support measures that may be needed. Common reasons for referral include frequent short-term absence, stress, musculoskeletal problems and long-term illness. We can refer in to specialist services such as physiotherapy and talking therapies to expedite recovery where appropriate.

The Flex approach is underpinned by a holistic and confidential assessment of the employee’s health in relation to their duties and working environment. The assessment recognises the multiple, and often competing influences on an individual’s wellbeing, resilience and ability to work effectively and the employer’s duties within the Equality Act 2010.

The consultation is followed by an easy to understand unbiased report to the manager and employee within 72 hours of the assessment.
